Wild Wings Butterfly House
Your tour of the WILD WINGS BUTTERFLY HOUSE at BACAB ECO ADVENTURE PARK begins as soon as you leave the administrative buildings. The walkways are lined with colorful tropical wildflowers from which the native butterflies drink nectar and sun themselves.
As the path enters the shade of the palmetto forest, the elevated boardwalk brings you closer to the Orchid and Bromeliad laden branches of the Bullet Trees and trunks of the Saw Palmettos. 
- Passionflower vines and many native plants supply the resident Blue Morpho, Swallowtail and Postman with the necessary food for the caterpillar stage after the eggs hatch.
- Inside the WILD WINGS BUTTERFLY HOUSE, a winding pathway offer the opportunity to view as many as 25 species of native Belizean butterflies (dependent on the season) in a kaleidoscope of colors.
- Iridescent blues of the Blue Morpho, lime green of the Malachite, orange of the Julias and brilliant red, yellow and black of the Postman.
- The false eye pattern displayed by the Owl Butterfly give credibility to it’s unique name as it mimics the large staring eyes of an owl.
- A small and waterfall provide soothing sounds for visitors and moisture for the butterflies and tropical plants.
- A Gazebo, Covered bridge and seating areas add to the charm and serenity of the landscape and a tropical backdrop for the many flittering jewel-colored wild wings of this beautiful butterfly collection.
- Enjoy a Belizean Style Lunch (buffet) and some of the Park’s other amenities including Ixchel’s Walk - a self-guided Medicinal Trail or visit the Wild Wings Butterfly House.
- Or, if you prefer, just kick off your shoes, relax in one of our hammocks and sip one of our frozen drink specials made with local fruits
- A swim in our exotic swimming pool with its sculptured waterfall and water slide is most refreshing after climbing the Ruins
- On your way out, visit our Gift Shop where you can find a variety of Belizean made crafts and a variety of other souvenirs.
- Note: Bring comfortable walking shoes, swimsuit, sunglasses, hat, towel, sunscreen, insect repellant. If visiting the butterfly house, please do not apply insect repellant until after your visit to the butterfly house.
